Questions about Xanax for Anxiety attacks!?
I’ve been thinking about taking Xanax to help with my anxiety attacks. (i’ll go to the doc for this)
But before I do so, I was just curious about somethings..
Side effects:
Such as weight gain?? It that true?
Does it really work for anxiety? scale 1-10 of how well it works?
How does it make you feel? (i’m do not of drugs that make you feel weird and not in control of you body)
Will it eventually make you not have anxiety? How?
Will I be able to still do daily activites like gym?
My view of Xanax is it makes you real relaxed and tired..so i’m worried i’ll be lazy and druged up everyday!
I really want to treat my anxiety because it is hold me back on a lot of things. I have anxiety about having axniety! which is difficult to ignore and try to not let it hold me back. It’s a fear..and i hate it.
It isn’t so simple as deciding you want to take Xanax and asking the doctor to put you on it. Xanax, besides being very intoxicating, is highly addictive. Some say equal to or more than heroin and nicotine. Xanax withdrawl can kill you, and it has to be done under safe medical supervision. If taken everyday the effect of curing your anxiety will decrease to nothing within about 6 weeks. You build a tolerance quickly and the drug becomes worthless, but the patient is hooked. For these reasons a great many doctors will not prescribe xanax. and those who will prescribe a benzodiazepine derivitive will opt for safer alternatives ie Ativan and Klonopin. Those are intoxicating and addictive as well though. I would say that the majority of doctors would put you on an SSRI, Lexapro being one of the most effective for anxiety. To answer your other questions, no weight gain, you will feel intoxicated for the first 4 or 5 days if you are taking this drug on a schedule (btw people on xanax are 10x more likely to cause a car accident, it shows up on a drug test and you can get a dui for it), It will make you not feel anxiety at first, but that result quickly diminishes and you have to take more and more to get the same effect. There are people who take 50 times more than they are prescribed and go to several doctors or buy from drug dealers to get the stuff, you could do your daily activities to some degree but your cognition and motor functions will be impaired.

Assessment Scales in Depression and Anxiety $109.95 There are a number of books recently published on assessment scales for depression and anxiety. However, these books are generally more detailed than clinicians require, are specific to one or other condition, or involve specialty populations (children, geriatrics). Hence, there is still a need for a simple-to-use book that encompasses all of the major depression and anxiety assessment scales of interest to clinicians. To meet the needs of clinicians treating patients with depressive and anxiety disorders, this volume brings together empirically validated assessment scales. Such a volume will serve several purposes for clinicians: 1) to illustrate the assessment scales used in clinical trials and research studies; 2) to show how to select an assessment scale, and to decide which scale to use for a particular clinical situation; and3) to provide sample assessment scales to use in their clinical practice. In contrast to other available books dealing with assessment tools, this volume is short, practical, and user-friendly. |

English Language Classroom Anxiety $109.93 English has been serving as a worldwide language for a very long time. For that matter, many countries have been using English as medium of instruction at different levels such as secondary and tertiary levels. Ethiopia is one of the countries in which English is included in the curriculum as a subject in all grade levels, and it also serves as the medium of instruction starting from grade nine to tertiary levels. However, learners of English language often express a feeling of stress, nervousness or anxiety while practicing speaking in English, as English is given as a foreign language. So, this book describes the levels of English Language Anxiety (ELA)of high and low achievers, identifies the relationships among language achievement, anxieties related to foreign language anxiety and Foreign Language Classroom Anxiety Scale (FLCAS) Scores; and tries to identify the most serious potential source of English language classroom anxiety in Ethiopian EFL context.
