Anxiety Cbt

Advise on CBT,been suggested to keep Anxiety diary but not sure what to put into it!!????????/confused!!!!!?

What difference does keeping one of these even make and also what are you even meant to put into it,I am abit confused here!!I have got agoraphobia and anxiety disorder and am having cbt sessions to help me with this.

You should ask your therapist to clarify this. Usually an anxiety diary involves writing about times when you feel anxious. You may want to write about the circumstances that led to your feeling anxious, the degree of anxiety you feel (often on a scale of 1-10) and what you did to try and deal with the anxiety. The point of diaries is usually to get a sense of when, how often, and how anxious you become. However, as I said, you should check with your therapist to see exactly what she/he wants you to be doing with your diary.

CBT for Worry and Generalised Anxiety Disorder

CBT for Worry and Generalised Anxiety Disorder

$41

This practical introduction helps trainees use cognitive behavioural therapy to assess and treat generalised anxiety disorder (GAD), one of the most commonly presented client issues. Taking the reader step-by-step through each stage of CBT with anxiety and worry, the authors illustrate the whole range of different treatment techniques whilst keeping the book accessible and concise. Tailored to current High and Low Intensity (IAPT) training, it covers self-help literature as well as traditional one-to-one therapy. The book: – contains illustrative case material, balancing an evidence-based approach with awareness of the realities of today’s practice – alerts trainees to the potential complicating factors and the co-existence of other anxiety or mood disorders alongside GAD – addresses cross-cutting professional themes, such as working with morbidity and the pressures of working within NHS settings. Bridging the gap between theory and practice, this book is essential reading for all CBT trainees on IAPT programmes, as well as trainees on postgraduate counselling, psychotherapy and clinical psychology courses. Qualified therapists who require an update in this area will also find this a useful resource.

Computerised CBT

Computerised CBT

$65.33

Computerised Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CCBT) delivers cognitive behavioral techniques to a computeruser to increase successful coping strategies and improve mental wellbeing. The National Institute for Clinical Excellence (2006) describes CCBT as a generic term for delivering CBT via an interactive computer interface delivered by a personal computer, internet or interactive voice response system. Official data from the World Health Organisation shows us that annually in the UK 7.7 of the population suffer from depression and 10 from anxiety. In the United States 9.5 of the population annually suffer from depression with 18.1 of the population suffering from anxiety. However, both depression and anxiety can be successfully treated in many cases, and with Cognitive Behavioral Therapy proving to be as effective as medication (Watkins Williams, 1998) and a popular choice for sufferers any provision of CBT on a wider basis is desirable. Hence, computerised CBT programmes may offer a unique opportunity to dramatically improve the lives of millions of people.
